:The National Police Service (NPS)  has issued a statement following the demise of the prominent businessman and lawyer Karanja Kabage.

In the statement signed by NPS Director of Corporate Communications Charles Wahong’o, the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has since directed the DCI to institute investigations into the probable cause of death.

According to the police, the road accident that killed Kabage occurred on Friday July, 5, 2018 at around 9:47pm.

 The family of the deceased , friends and all Kenyans have been urged to remain patient as police investigate the matter. 

"We ask for patience and cooperation as we work to establish the probable cause of death," said Wahong’o

Meanwhile preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased's vehicle, veered off the road and hit a pavement leading to his death.

"Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was driving a black Land Cruiser VX along Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni direction towards Kikuyu general direction.

"According to eye witness, the vehicle veered off to the wrong side of the road, slowed down, appeared to be making a U-turn before slightly hitting the pavement," read a statement released on Saturday.
