Chief Justice David Maraga on Wednesday skipped the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report at the Bomas of Kenya.
It remains unclear why Maraga decided to skip the event.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga were among the leaders present during the launch of the report.
Maraga's decision comes barely a month after he threatened that he will no longer attend public functions because of the manner in which he is treated.
He lamented that he is always kept on the queues at State House and other VIP points even when junior officers are given access.
The Judiciary head said that unless the President intervenes into the matter, he was going to do things his own way.
"Cabinet secretaries and Principal Secretaries are cleared to enter State House before the Chief Justice. The CJ is told to wait," said Maraga said as quoted by the Standard.
The CJ said that he will be deciding which State functions he will be attending from that day onwards.
It seems he has lived up to his threats if the move is anything we can go by.
"I have decided that unless I am treated with dignity due to my office I will choose which of those state functions to attend," he said.
