Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has promoted five Administration Police (AP) officers in Lari Constituency, Kiambu County.
According to area AP commander Gilbert Nyunyi, the officers were elevated owing to their hard work and good relationship with the residents in areas they are posted.
"These officers have partnered with residents to fight crime which has drastically reduced. They respond quickly to distress and investigate intelligence reports discreetly," he said, as quoted by the Star.
"Promotions are earned. These five officers have clean records and that is why they have been rewarded," Nyunyi added.
They include Stephen Hura who was promoted from sergeant to senior sergeant position. Isaiah Chebet and Phillip Ng’eno are now sergeants from corporals.
Others; George Muturi and Stanley Ng’eno rose from constable to corporal.
Lari Deputy County Commissioner Aaron Koros congratulated the officers and urged them to continue cooperating with residents.
"You are work at posts in village levels and you are supposed to interact with people,” Koros advised.
