Approaching women is always a difficult task and I agree it takes a certain amount of confidence and guts to do it flawlessly.
While it builds self-esteem and gives you a rush of blood, approaching women in certain spaces is not entirely apt.
The most probable places to come forward and ask a woman out or start a conversation with her are probably bars, gyms, clubs and even concerts.
But there are some places that maintain a proper decorum and you wouldn't want to disturb the sanctity of the space by continuously exploring the chance of meeting women; one of it is office.
In case you can't help yourself and you really want to hit on one of your co-workers, there are somethings you can keep in mind which might help you gauge the situation and maybe do things more in accordance with the space.
1. Don't lurk. Lurkers are just bad news! Lurkers are people who hang about around their interest but don't really actively participate. This is more so in cases of online lurking but in this context don't go around where she sits and hang around aimlessly just to get her attention.
2. If you really like her, approach her elsewhere. If you can't contain your livid crush on this woman then I suggest you approach her outside of the vicinity. Unless of course, there is an obscure chance for you to approach her when she's absolutely free, which is still an unlikely thing for you to do.
3. Be mindful of office parties. While office parties are a perfect time to let your feelings all out, they still might not be welcomed by the other party. You can try approaching the girl you really like at an office party but be mindful it can backfire.
4. Don't randomly ask for her number. While it's okay to ask for her number at a bar or anywhere more appropriately suitable to approach women, an office space is really not the right place to ask for her number. It's terribly frowned upon and can really annoy her.
5. Refrain from private conversations through official channels. This is a major troubleshoot between colleagues. Some colleagues can maintain a healthy dynamic when they're seeing each other in office and that's because they follow the dos and don'ts of office romance closely and the biggest one is to not exchange any personal conversation via official channels.
