Police in Kikuyu have on Friday arrested five boda boda operators who were operating early this morning despite the police boss issuing a ban to their respective Saccos. This comes after the police boss banned 2 boda boda Saccos from operations following claims of them engaging in crime and also encouraging crime since they don't report any suspicious cases to the police.

Confirming the incident was the Kikuyu OCS Senior Inspector Birgen Kiptoo who said that the 5 were arrested operating despite their Saccos despite being banned. He said that they were not only arrested for disobeying the ban but also as criminal suspects since they were banned for criminal claims in their operations.

The OCS said that during the arrest this morning at around 5am, the police also conducted a quick search and found a panga hidden in one of the boda bodas. He confirmed that they suspect that they were up to no good.

"These operators have not only been arrested for operating despite the ban but also as criminal suspects. We are doing our investigations and we are going to get to the bottom of this," said Kiptoo.

He also warned other operators under the banned Saccos not to operate since they would be arrested.
