Does true love really exist? Well, I keep on asking myself this question without an answer. Many people say true love exists, but all I hear and see from people who claim to love each other out here isn’t true love. However, many people have different misconceptions about true love. Here are major misconceptions many people believe are true about true love:
JealousyJealousy has never been a sign of love. Someone being jealous in a relationship doesn’t mean its true love. Jealous is a sign of low esteem which is evident in people who are afraid of love. This simply means you are not confident enough to face a situation happening between you and your partner.
UnconditionalNo one ever loves another one without conditions. People love you because you treat them right, with respect and dignity. When you tomorrow you go against these standards, they change the ways they loved you. This means love is built on conditions and thus it is not unconditional.
HurtingDoes love really hurt? No, love is love and hurt is hurt. Love and hurt are two different things. Love is never hurting as hurt results from pain people feel from physical pain. Love is an emotional thing and therefore it doesn’t hurt at all.
SexMost people associate true love with sex. Sex is a human drive that isn’t associated with emotional feelings. That’s why some people could have sex with you but feel no emotional attachments afterward. This simply tells us that love and sex are two different things.
Profile picturesMost people think when their partners use their pictures as profile pictures on social media, this is true love. Don’t think when someone puts you on their profile picture that is true love cause you never know what’s really their idea of putting you as their profile picture.
