Five houses were reduced to ashes after a boy killed his uncle using a knife on Tuesday evening reasons not yet established.
Following the incident which occurred on Tuesday at Chibig’ombe ,manga location in Borabu Nyamira county the residents also set ablaze five family houses of the killer boy and destroyed all that the family had on the farm including maize and banana crops as the family members run away from home.
The mourners also slaughtered two family cows and a number of chicken to show their anger.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday at the late Dominic Nyambane’s home his brother Robert Nyambane said the incident happened at around 7;00PM on Monday at the late man’s gate after they had come from a funeral.
He added that they were alerted by a distress call from residents on the road who were trying to help the deceased.
His Uncle Henry Kisicha and sister to the late Mary Mokaya condemned the action adding that the incident is a big loss to the family that struggles to put food on the table.
Area assistant chief Manga location Charles Karaya confirmed the incident saying that calm has returned to the village.
The chief added that the village has agreed to have the parents of the killer boy return back to the village so that they can assist the family in burial arrangements but vowed not to see the son back home.
He also appealed to residents not to take actions whenever something bad happened.
The boy is still at large and the body of the late is at Nyasiongo mortuary as preparations for the funeral program begin.
