The 39-year-old is the forth born in the family of six and was born in Kwale County to Duruma parents before shifting to Embu.

She attended Kionjokoma Primary school before joining Kyeni Girls and subsequently doing Journalism in Foundation College of Professional Studies.

But during her infantry life, Kanze had her father separating with the mother when she was only four years old.

And while in High School, the former Citizen TV anchor gave birth to her first born child Natasha whom she opeted to given out for adoption.She would later rescind the decision.

In a separate interview according to The Standard, Kanze admits being an alcohol addict, a reason she says led to her first pregnancy.

Later after sending Natasha to her mother, the daughter would die three months later. And due to that, the celebrated anchor would attempt suicide due to depression.

While working as an intern in KBC, she had a second born child which coincided with her mother's death.

She will be deputising Manoah Esipisu following the State House appointment where she will also double as deputy head of PSCU.
