There are those popularly referred to as 'hustlers'. They are usually located at strategic corners of the Eldoret streets with an intention of raising a living from the goods and services they sell to their customers. Their suspicious stare is one among the distinct characteristic they possess.

Here are five interesting types of hustlers in Eldoret:

Twilight girls

They are usually located at strategic places in the streets of Eldoret dressed in a seductive manner that arrest eyes of the men to the glance at their overexposed curves. They are usually with an intention of selling the goodies for money.

Magicians

They usually do street magic that captures the attention of unsuspecting residents. Some would play around with cash promising to multiply them. In most cases, they have a convincing power to make residents believe what they do hence cash them.

Street pastors

The number of pastors in the markets and street of Eldoret has risen immensely of late. Most of them are up to criticize the vices done by the youths of the 21st century. After preaching, they are usually quick to collect offerings and normally they get sympathizers who give them. It, however, remains a puzzle as to whether they are genuine in their preaching or they want cash.

Herbalist

They are normally found along busy streets and sell traditional herbs promising the sick to heal from them. They earn cash by selling the herbs.

Conductors

They are popularly known as Manamba. Matatu stages are their hustling points where they are employed by car owners to look for potential travelers to board their vehicles. They are paid depending on the number of passengers they brought on board after the vehicle is full.
