Nairobi is the heart of Kenya. It has everything any youth can wish for. This has affected the lives of youths both positively and negatively. Many youths in Nairobi have resulted in illegal activities that are ruining their lives. Such things take most of their time and money, but there are no celebrated results. Here are things that are making youths in Nairobi poor:1. Sports betting

Sports betting is a game of chance. Chances of winning and losing are 50/50. Youths in Nairobi are taking sports betting as their business and source of income. This has really affected their lives in many ways. Some use school fees in betting, other sell their essentials to get money for betting. A few win something from betting but a bigger percentage loses. The end result is always youths killing themselves or engage in dubious activities to raise money for fees or other needs.2. Education

Education is the key to success. However, too much time spent in education is bad. Many youths are taking too much time in schools when they could be out here in the world doing business or looking for employments. Spending more time at school will not only take much of your time which could have been otherwise used to generate an income, but also it will cost you a lot.3. Women/Prostitutes

Nairobi youths and women are one thing. Youths are doing everything to please “slay queens.” They spend most of their time hustling for money only to waste it on prostitutes, who can never be wife material. Due to the high number of prostitution in Nairobi, this has been the center where many youths meet to satisfy their pleasures. 4. Drug abuse

Drugs and substance abuse have taken most of youth’s lives in Nairobi. A lot of drugs are being sold in hidden joints by cartels in Nairobi. This has affected youth in a great way as they spend most of their time and money doing drugs. Their minds are taken into these drugs so that they only think of making money and spending whole of it on drugs.5. Alcohol

Alcohol, just like women and drugs has affected the lives of many youths around the city. Alcohol addiction has affected the health of youths and even old mature people around the city. Alcohol is expensive, and thus eats a lot into the accounts of youths.
