It is characterized by physical, emotional and mental exhaustion combined with lack of confidence and viewing your work as valueless. 

Below are five signs that show you are experiencing career burnout:

1. General body exhaustion characterized by insomnia. You are likely to have irregular sleeping patterns due to depression as a result of a boring and strenuous job that is not rewarding at the end of the day.

2. Lack or inadequate support from management. Poor managerial skills or insufficient support staff contribute to work burnout since you will be forced to work for long hours on a lot of work individually which in the long run will result in exhaustion.

3. working on a job you feel is meaningless and valueless to you.  It is regarded as lifestyle mismatch when you do a job that doesn’t give you a sense of pride. You will definitely be less productive if you have no passion for a particular job.

4. Straining to be perfect in whatever you do at work. You will lose focus and every task you do will become more frustrating. 

5. Lack of downtime. Too much concentration on work reduces your time to spend with your family members. Having time for friends and family or creative outlet not related to your job is vital for work-life balance. Failure to create such time will result to career burnout.
