The talks between President Uhuru Kenyatta and the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has bared serious changes in the country.

The meeting which took place at Harambee House received negative and positive critics of equal measures.

However, it helped cool the political tension which had been in the country.

Here are five major changes in the country after the Uhuru-Raila talks:

Suspension of the People’s AssemblyAfter the unity between President Uhuru and NASA leader Raila, it was necessary that the People’s Assembly be disbanded to support the talks.

On Monday this week, NASA chief strategist David Ndii said it was better to suspend it and reason together with the government.

Reinstatement of leader’s security detailAll the security details of the NASA leaders were withdrawn after the controversial swearing in of Raila as the People’s President. However, the Uhuru-Raila unity talks cooled things down.

On Monday, the government reinstated all the NASA leader’s security details as confirmed by leader of the Minority Whip Junet Mohamed and leader of the National Assembly Minority John Mbadi.

Wanjigi’s case withdrawnBoth Jimi Wanjigi and his father had been charged with illegal ownership of firearms. However, after the unity talks, it seems like their cases will be withdrawn to honor the unity talks.

Deputy President Ruto supports RailaSeems like the harsh rivalry between Ruto and Raila came to an end after the unity talks between Raila and President Uhuru.

Ruto supported Raila in his decision of unity and argued other opposition leaders to embrace unity and move forward as a country.

NASA co-principals disagree with RailaThe NASA co-principals claim the meeting between NASA leader Raila and President Uhuru got them unaware.

Therefore, they claim Raila worked on his own in arranging this meeting. They publicly confirmed their displeasure in Raila saying he had betrayed them.
