Smooth lips are a sign of attraction and no one would prefer having dry and cracked lips rather than smooth and soft ones. Keeping your lips smooth and soft isn't that hard if you can follow the following five ways;
Drink 8 glasses of water daily
Keeping your body hydrated is the key way of making your lips smooth, soft and wrinkles free. Water is a hydrant that will provide enough moisture to your lips and prevent cracks. Fruits like watermelons can also help hydrate your body to give you moisturized lips.
Cover them during windy or cold weather
You can manage to do this either by wearing scarves around your mouth. When the wind blows, it eliminates moisture from your lips leaving them dry and cracky. If you are not used to wearing scarves you consider applying lip balms or some petroleum jelly.
Stop biting or licking your lips
Biting your lips scrapes off the outer light covering leaving them dry, rough and hard. Saliva, on the other hand, dries on your lips leaving them in the same condition, hard. To avoid licking your lips you can apply petroleum jelly since it doesn't taste so nice when you lick compared to flavored lip balm.
Avoid salty and acidic foods
Salty foods are bad for your lips. This is because salt dehydrates your lips leaving hem dry and cracky. Acidic foods or fruits like oranges and lemons should also be avoided since the acidic contents in them burn the lips leaving them scrappy. This does not mean you completely stop eating such foods but you can regulate.
Avoid picking your lips when they are chapped
Some people like removing the chapped skins on their lips with their teeth. However, this is not the best way to keep your lips soft and smooth. Instead, you can apply natural lip balms to eliminate the chaps from your lips. Ensure you go for those labeled for chapped lips.
