Avoid peak travel dates.

You can generally guess which dates will be the most expensive for travel (consider which travel days would allow you to maximize long weekends without taking too many days off work — and that’s probably when everyone will want to go). If you’re not sure, use a search engine that lets you put in flexible travel dates; these will show you which date combinations will give you the best deal.

Plan for delays and cancellations

We all have to take the good with the bad, and whilst you’re lucky to be able to go on a holiday, bus stations, airports at this time of the year are usually very busy. So, plan for delays or even cancellations!

Be prepared

Before you leave for your trip make sure you are all organized and prepared, which will take your stress levels down.

Pack wisely

Packing luggage can be stressful, especially if you wait until the last minute. For those who have a tendency to over-pack – you know the stress of having to open your suitcase everywhere, to take some items out! Some careful packing can avoid the embarrassment of showing everyone the contents of your suitcase.

Leave earlyDuring the festive season there is often some form of delay such as; traffic jams, public transport interruptions or long security lines, that will most certainly add time on to your trip. With this, you should leave your house extra early to avoid getting stressed out.
