These are some of the ways one can overcome emotions:

1. Forgive your emotional triggers

They can be your lover, your friends or what have you, by forgiving them is when you get rid of the negative feelings that lead to emotions

2. Know that because you’re human, you are naturally inclined to react on emotion. There is nothing wrong with that fact, people just need to recognize that they can greatly benefit from knowing when and how to control the emotions.

3. See the bigger picture

4. Ask for divine guidance

This can come from a parent, professional canceler, teacher, church pastor and name them. Seek guidance.

5. Do not give in to your emotions 

Give it time it will heal. If you have a wound on your knee, do you keep on picking at it? No. You wrap it up and leave it alone until it heals. Your emotions are no different.
