Nandi governor Stephen Sang has urged county government to cancel the five years experience for youths applying for jobs in counties.
He said this will ensure more youths are employed since most of them don't have experience of five years.
"In most county job advertisement applicants are supposed to have five years locking out students who have just completed their college and university education, where do you want youths to get that experience yet they are not employed," he said in Eldoret town, Tuesday.
"That's why my government scrapped five-year experience requirement in employment, I want more youths to be employed," he added.
He reiterated that the requirements should not be applied to youths since the majority of them are unemployed and should be given a chance to render their service to acquire the experience.
"We want to have more friendly terms for our youth to engage with the county and private sectors since we have youths with credentials but no experience," noted Sang.
