Issues of land conflicts across the country have informed the ministry of lands to formulate a workable framework that will solve any kinds of land-related dispute.

According to the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Lands, Hon. Gideon Mung'aro, the process of digitization is aimed at making title deeds issuance process an easy task.

“The digital process will also tame landowners who keep on selling their lands given to them by the government and immediately after they become squatters themselves,” said Mung’aro.

Speaking in Wundanyi lands offices on Friday, Mung'aro said that already 50% of the job to digitize lands matters is already done and the ministry is doing everything in its capacity to speed up the process to 100% completion before the year 2020.

Mung'aro cautioned land’s officials who are lazy on service delivery adding that they will not be tolerated. He said that plans are underway to start using chiefs to distribute the title deeds which have not been collected.
