The incident occurred outside his homestead on Wednesday morning in Kisauni Village, Kaewa Location in Yatta sub-county.

Julius Kisilu Mulinge is suspected to have used the rope to commit suicide early Wednesday morning and after he had died, the rope that was not strong enough, probably cut before he fell on the ground.

Confirming the incident, the Masinga OCPD Joel Chebii Kiptum said that the body was found by the victims’ brother who was passing by Mulinge’s homestead as he headed to work.

“The victims brother reported the incident to Masinga Police Station. We suspect that the deceased used the rope to hang himself because his neck has strain marks,” said OCPD Kiptum.

Speaking at the scene of the incident, the area Chief Peter Kalungu stated that the man lives alone because he has neither a wife nor children.

Chief Kalungu condemned the incident and advised the area residents that once they have an issue stressing them they should seek advice from Church leaders or from the available counsellors to help them before worse come to the worst.

The body was taken to Matuu Mediance Hospital Mortuary the former Matuu Nursing Home.
