The president of the Court of Appeal Justice William Ouko revealed that the late Justice Otieno Odek pinpointed the place that he had wished to be buried while he was still alive.

Justice Ouko who was speaking during the burial of the late Court of Appeal judge added that he never believed that it would one day come to be a reality.

He described the late as a 'great mind'.“I didn’t know that this would become a reality. We’re today sending off a great mind,” he stated as quoted.Justice Odek was buried at his home in Memba, Siaya County.Other leaders who eulogized the late during the burial included Busia County senator Amos Wako.

Wako revealed that he met late in 1987 before he even became a judge.

“He did what many of us would take their whole lives to do and many people benefited from his generosity. As much as we mourn the death of Odek, let’s also celebrate his life,” Wako said.Member of parliament for Alego-Usonga Samuel Atandi pointed out that the cause of the judge's death should be looked into.“It has become normal for people to die in this country and the cause of their death is not talked about after their burials,” he noted.A post moterm test conducted on the body of the late revealed that Justice Odek died as a result of a blood clot in his blood vessels.

Other leaders who were in attendance at the burial included Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Chief Justice David Maraga.
