The president of Brazil Hair Bolsonaro has proved once again that when it comes to criticising people, everyone is fair game, including teenagers.
Bolsonaro has hit out at renowned climate activist Greta Thunberg, describing her as a brat, the Time Magazine has reported.
The strong words were a response to Greta Thunberg's condemnation of what the Swedish teenager described as the slayings of the Amazon natives.
"Greta said that the Indians died because they were defending the Amazon,” Bolsonaro told a group of journalists as quoted by Reuters. “It’s impressive that the press is giving space to a brat like that,” he added.
“Indigenous people are being literally murdered for trying to protect the forrest (sic) from illegal deforestation,” Greta Thunberg has said drawing the anger of the Brazilian head of state. “Over and over again. It is shameful that the world remains silent about this, " she added as quoted by the Time Magazine.
In spite of widespread concern about the Amazon backed by empirical data, the Brazilian president continues to downplay those concerns.
Less that a month ago, he alleged that renowned Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio paid money so that the Amazon Forest could be set on fire.
He strongly denies that the forest is in danger.
