Former Presidential candidate Abuda Dida has castigated the government after blocking lawyer Miguna Miguna from coming back into the country.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Dida said that the government should not frustrate the lawyer because of the lack of passport and other travel documents. Dida said that the remark that Miguna was unruly are baseless. He also said that the Jubilee government has failed when it comes to protecting the rights of individuals.
“Jubilee Govt cares more about category A1 status of the airport than court orders, basic human rights and your rights as a Kenyan. It will kidnap and sedate you like an animal, lock you in a toilet and ship you off to foreign land just to protect the airport category A1status!” he tweeted.
Government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna said that Miguna had not landed back into the country because of his hostile nature. He noted that the government has no problem if the lawyer presents the right documents to him.
“Miguna was unruly and that went against international regulations put there by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) annex 17which prohibits any unruly passengers to travel,” he stated.
Miguna has since insisted that he is a Kenyan and he deserves better treatment at the end of the day.
