Speaking after the game in which Tanzania took lead twice, the crestfallen captain confessed to having disappointed their fans but held out hope that they could prevail in their next match against the Desert Foxes of Algeria who leads the group.

"I think we were not mature enough to defend our win. It is not a problem of defence, it is a team problem. In results like this, we have to stand as a team. I think we could have done better. We are still in the competition. I am a firm believer. To fall is to learn. We are here and we will fight to ensure that we get good results in our next match even though we know the opponent is not an easy one. (Mimi nafikiri ni timu nzima, hatukuwa matured enough kuweza kulinda ushindi wetu. Sio tatizo la ulinzi pekee yake, ni tatizo la timu nzima. Na katika matokeo kama haya nafikiri inabidi tusimame kama timu. Nafikiri tungeweza kufanya vizuri. Bado tuko kwenye competition. Mimi naamini siku zote. Kuanguka ni kujifunza. Sisi tupo, tutaendela kupambana kuona tunaeza kupata matokeo mechi ya mwisho japo tunafahamu mpinzani ambaye tunaenda kupatana naye ni mgumu), " the Taifa Stars captain said in a YouTube video.

In spite of the loss to the Harambee Stars, Tanzanian's have a mathematical chance of sailing to the knock-out stages if they upstage Algeria in their final group stage match.
