Two-time Olympic 800m champion David Lekuta Rudisha and a four-time world 3,000m steeplechase champion Ezekiel Kemboi risk being expelled from Africa Athletics (CAA) and International Association of Athletics Federations(IAAF) respectively.
Rudisha is CAA's President while Kemboi is IAAF Athlete Representative but allegedly do not honor invitations.
“Sometimes it is difficult to understand some Kenyan athletes. Here an athlete has landed a big position in Africa or IAAF but he doesn’t see the importance. Rudisha appointed CAA Athletics Commission three years ago, but he is not actively involved," a senior Athletics Kenya official, who declined to be named told Standard.
The Athletics Kenya (AK) official stated that the duo will be kicked out by the two bodies. The source added that CAA President Hamad Kalkaba Malboum is not happy with Rudisha's behavior.
"The same case with Ezekiel Kemboi, who is IAAF Athlete Representative. They get air tickets to attend the meetings but do not travel. I know they will be kicked out of such roles," the source added.
However, all seems not to be well with Rudisha after his wife shared a post that suggested marital problems besides track setbacks.
"David Lekuta Rudisha stop frustrating me with my kids. To my family, my heart is heavy I can’t hold anymore. I love u all," read her Facebook post on Tuesday.
