The appointment of Michael Joseph as the interim CEO of Safaricom following the death of Bob Collymore has not augured well with lawyer Miguna Miguna.
In a series of tweets, Miguna has said that there are hundreds of Kenyans who can transform the fortunes of the mobile service provider. He insisted that it doesn’t make sense for foreigners to be exchanging positions at the firm when Kenyans are jobless.
He also said that foreigners need to remember that Kenyans are in dire need of these jobs.
“And don't tell me that SafaricomPLC and other leading Kenyan institutions and companies can only be headed by a Caucasian, foreigner or a privileged elite from Uhuru Kenyatta's ethnic group,” he tweeted.
Miguna, who was deported to Canada after he took part in the controversial swearing in of ODM Leader Raila Amolo Odinga also said that Kenyans have proven resourceful through numerous projects they have initiated since Safaricom was launched in Kenya.
He cited the idea of MPESA which has transformed the lives of millions across the country ever since it was embraced.
“Kenyan Africans created AfricaOnline, MPESA, and other innovative inventions. There are leading ETHICAL Kenyan Africans in all spheres of life including science, technology, engineering, business, management, and entrepreneurship. Please don't give me BS about Michael Joseph,” he tweeted.
