ODM party director of communications Philip Etale has castigated Deputy President William Ruto for claiming that Kibra constituency was under siege.
In a tweet on Saturday night, Etale wondered how the DP could dare make such kind of remarks at a political event in Kibra.Link:
He further dared him (Ruto) to talk about Kibra being under siege at a rally in the same constituency.
Furthermore, Etale lambasted Ruto for making politically ridiculous remarks concerning the upcoming Kibra by-election far away from the concerned constituency.
The ODM official slammed the DP for exhibiting cowardice by campaigning for the by-election outside Kibra.
"Can William Ruto repeat the things he said in Salgaa on a podium right inside Kibera. Come baby come. Kibra campaigns are done in Kibra 250 Kilometers away. Coward," read Etale's post.
The campaigns for the upcoming Kibra by-election are almost coming to an end.
Political tirades pitting various political parties which have fielded candidates in the upcoming by-election against one another have dominated their campaigns.
Senior party officials have been attacking one another as they drum up support for their particular candidates.
One case involved DP Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga. The latter's team have been accusing the DP of using the money to buy support for Jubilee candidate MacDonald Mariga.
On Saturday, the DP alleged that Raila Odinga had resorted to canvassing for support from other political parties and individuals in order to bolster the chances of his party retaining the seat since the constituency was under siege from intense competition.
