Despite their divergent political opinions, Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and ODM leader Raila Odinga at friends at personal level.
While politicians allied to Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga teams were clashing on Sunday, Murkomen and Mr Odinga were embracing each other miles away at Kasarani.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was forced to hold back at Royal Media Services building for several hours after it emerged that police were hunting for him after chaotic church service in Murang'a.
But for Murkomen, politics never seems to be distorting his personal relationship with those in opposing camps. At Kasarani, he is seem sharing information with Mr Odinga.
"Today I joined soccer fans in Kasarani Stadium to cheer Harambee stars as they battled Ugandan cranes. It was a balanced match. Glad Kimanzi is rebuilding the team with new players joining the national team," he wrote after one all draw between Kenya and Uganda.
Besides the Kenyan national football team, the two are supporters of Gor Mahia club. Mr Murkomen is a fierce critic of Mr Odinga on political arena.
On Saturday, Odinga launched a fierce attack on Murkomen's favourite candidate for 2022 polls William Ruto, accusing him of using millions to campaign.
“We will not be intimidated by money. We will not be intimidated by people who have no agenda for this country, people who don’t know where the country is coming from and where we want to go. The Kenyan spirit is much bigger than the penny you want to give them,” said Raila.
The two have also strongly differed on evictions from Mau forest. While Mr Odinga supports the evictions with an alternative of resettlement, Murkomen rejects the move.
