Garissa Woman Representative Anab Gure has maintained that Inua Mama, a Jubile faction of women leaders, is there to stay and won’t be disbanded anytime soon.
Her sentiments come just a few days after her Murang’a counterpart Sabina Chege demanded that both Inua Mama and Embrace groups be disbanded for a better Kenya.
Speaking in Wajir at an Inua Mama rally on Friday evening, the vocal lawmaker pointed out the benefits of Inua Mama and wondered why some politicians are thinking of its dissolution.
“Inua Mama is a political movement that brought under one roof women leaders with a vision to assist each other in empowering their people. We are NOT going to disband it anytime soon as long as we serve the Wanjiku and Halima,” Anab Gure said.
Being one of the Inua Mama’s loyalists, she insisted that the group is geared towards social, political and economic empowerment of women.
Her sentiments were echoed by Uasin Gishu Women Rep Gladys Shollei, Kandara MP Alice Wahome among other Inua Mama leaders.
Over fifty women benefited with the donation of mattresses and other valuables.
Inua Mama also gifted Textbooks and revision materials to Wajir school for the deaf, gas cookers for the women, wheelchairs for the disabled, sewing machines, shade umbrellas and football materials.
