A man only identified as Everton who operates as a school bus tout in Likoni has gone into hiding after it was alleged that he had defiled a 5-year-old girl.
The accused who works at Mount Sinai Primary School is reported to have committed the crime on 15th July at the back of the bus.
According to a report by The Standard Digital, the school management has been accused of assisting the man to escape. The officials at the school have however denied the allegations of helping the suspect.
“We reported this matter on July 15 and when we went to the school to enforce arrest, the culprit was missing. We had information the culprit was in the school but the officials refused to call him," the victim's father told the Standard.
Parents of the girl also revealed that they learnt of their daughter's defilement three days later and reported the matter to the police.
A medical examination done on the girl confirmed that indeed she had been defiled.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer in Likoni Charles Onyango stated that police were looking into the case.
“The suspect is still at large but all processes have been activated to apprehend him. The suspect is well known and we are doing everything to track him down,” Onyango told the Standard Digital.
