Harambee Stars speedy winger Ayub Timbe is set to complete his transfer move to English Championship side Reading FC.
The Kenyan ace has been trading his services with China-based Beijing Rehne, who recently were relegated to Chinese second division.
In an interview with Daily Nation, Timbe was happy with the move terming it as a great step.
“I am having my medical at 5pm (UK time) and if everything goes well I will officially join the club. This is a great club with a huge history. It is also obviously another level here in England and I am happy to start a new challenge and see what comes out of it,” he told Daily Nation.
The 27-year-old winger who was a key player to Sebastien Migne's triumph to 2019 AFCON in Egypt is set to replace Modou Barrow who has been loaned to Turkish side Denizlispor.
Felipe Araruna is also set to join the club on a two-year deal as a free agent from Sao Paulo.
Reading FC owner Dai Yongge who also owns the Beijing Rehne had earlier tried to sign Timbe but the deal failed in January last year.
Reading FC are now placed at 15th with 37 points in 20 league table standing.
