Recent speculations had linked King Kiba with football after he reduced the pace of releasing songs.

The singer who is considered a great rival with fellow countryman Diamond Platnumz, in recent years reduced the rate at which he was releasing new songs.

In fact, fans started complaining that he was no longer competing with Diamond Platnumz, with some including controversial blogger cum socialite Mange Kimambi urging the singer to divorce his Mombasa woman and focus in music.

However, King Kiba in a recent interview by Burundi-based media Fanny which was shared on YouTube on Thursday, has announced he is a professional artist and not a footballer before he promised to give music full commitments.

The 'Mwana' hitmaker said that he ventured into football so that he could promote his energy drink business.

He also noted that the move was also to give his fellow artists a chance to make their name to the limelight.

"I engaged in football for my energy drink business but for now am seriously doing music, I am a professional musician (No niliji-engage na football kwa sababu ya business, am a businessman now, lakini vile vila nafanya muziki, niko serious kabisaa, am musician, am not a footballer. Niliji-engage tu na football kwa sababu ya business yangu ya energy drink)," said Ali Kiba who was recently featured by Kenyan controversial gospel artist Willy Paul.

The singer was also spotted in the studio with Aslay, an indication a new song is coming.
