Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny could yet again find himself in familiar territory with Tanga Tanga brigade following his remarks on Wednesday.
In an interview with NTV, Kutuny accused DP William Ruto of allegedly ignoring the interests of Rift Valley people despite huge following he enjoys.
The second term MP faulted Ruto for failing to address Mau forest evictions, arguing that even President Uhuru Kenyatta addresses grievances of Mt Kenya region especially coffee farming.
"If the Mau issue is not handled properly, it is going to tear Jubilee apart. We have seen President Uhuru Kenyatta waking up in the morning to solve coffee issues, but we have never seen the deputy president waking up to solve the issues in Mau," he said.
DP Ruto is yet to express himself satisfactorily on the Mau eviction according to Kutuny, despite his pronouncement on Tuesday that 'even children in Mau deserve good education'.
But Ruto's aide Emmanuel Talam accused Kutuny of disrespecting the president, arguing that the remarks potrays the head of state as a tribalist.
"It is sickening to watch Hon Kutuny claim that president Kenyatta is serving the interests of a certain region and community and wants the DP to do the same. Please respect the president. You are doing him a disservice," he argued.
The government on Tuesday slowed down the eviction process, reopening 15 schools that had been closed down following eviction orders.
Emurua Dikir MP Johanna Ng'eno and two MCAs are still in police custody after being accused of sabotaging the eviction process. They are yet to be charged.
