It has emerged that relatives of slain billionaire Tob Cohen now want to be part of a property case filed by widow Sarah Wairimu.
This is barely hours after the court allowed Sarah Wairimu, a murder suspect in the murder of her husband, to access her marital home.
According to Nation, Cohen's relatives Seth Van Straten, Gabrielle and Sharon Cohen have filed an application that seeks the court to allow them to be part of the case.
The application was filed in court by lawyer Dunstan Omari.
Sarah Wairimu is seeking to get a share of the property he alleged they co-owned with the late Cohen.
But according to the will of the deceased, the relatives were given the mandate to execute the same as soon as possible.
Sarah was not allocated anything in the will by the deceased despite being married to him.
The will indicates that Gabriella has access to bank accounts of the deceased in Rabo Bank Amstelveen and, NIC Bank in Kenya.
Omari, in court documents seen by Nation, argued that justice belongs to all persons, adding that the deceased must be respected.
“The three have identifiable stake in the estate and [joining] them in the succession case will breathe life into the constitutional dictate of allowing access to justice to all persons,” he said, as quoted by Nation.
Sarah Wairimu’s case has been scheduled for February 10, 2020.
