In an interview with K24 TV on Sunday, the governor said that he did not tell the New York Times that it was Raila that caused the chaos but rather, he said that it was his supporters.

"I did not tell ‘New York Times’ that Raila engineered 2007/2008 post-election violence. I said Raila’s people caused the chaos," Mutua said.

The claims were brought about by the fact that New York Times wrote a story indicating that the Machakos Governor said that it was the ODM party leader that planned the 2007/2008 violence.

He went ahead to claim that National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale should not be in office in connection to what he said about Kambas not to be allowed to be in his constituency.

He went ahead to give an example of US, where he said that if Duale would have uttered such words, he would have been removed from office.

"@HonAdenDuale should not be in office for he said that Kambas should not be in his constituency... If it was in the US he should have stepped aside," he opined.
