The secretary of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Francis Atwoli has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to reshuffle his cabinet.
Speaking in Machakos County at the St Christopher Catholic Parish in Kyumbi on Sunday, the flamboyant trade unionist contended that the cabinet as currently constituted was plagued by a lot of laxity.
He said that only a cabinet reshuffle would prevent matters from getting out of hand.
"I would also like to ask the president to change his cabinet because the picture that I saw in Japan was not good (Na pia nataka kumuomba President Uhuru Kenyatta ajaribu kubadilisha cabinet kwa jili kule Japan sikuona picha mzuri, " the COTU boss said.
He singled out the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, saying its cabinet secretary Monica Juma had woefully underperformed during the conference in Japan.
According to Atwoli, the Ministry's officials failed to effectively lobby for goodies for Kenya.
President Uhuru's faces an uphill task of fixing his cabinet amid allegations of corruption.
His Finance cabinet secretary Henry Rotich was arrested and charged with corruption, forcing the president to find a replacement albeit on an interim basis.
The ministry is being held by former Marsabit governor Ukur Yattani who is the substantive Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection.
