Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ezekiel Mutua has proposed for a national day to be set aside, to celebrate police officers for the dedicated work they do in maintaining law and order.
According to Dr Mutua, police officers are very important Kenyans who need to be appreciated and celebrated.Speaking at Masii Police Station new year party on Sunday, the KFCB boss said it will be befitting to the police officers if a day is set aside to cheer them up, celebrate and show love to them, for the great work they do in keeping peace, law and order.Dr Mutua said security is key to realisation of national development, adding that no development can be achieved in a lawless state, adding that Kenyans should support the police in keeping law and order.“Police officers are very important people in our society and we should appreciate and celebrate them. I, therefore, urge the public to provide information to police officers for them to secure our country," Dr Mutua said.He noted that security is a collective responsibility and everyone should play his or her role. Dr Mutua said KFCB will continue working with police in implementing its regulatory mandate as stated in the Film and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya.Leaders present at the Masii party included; Machakos Deputy Governor Engineer Francis Maliti, Machakos Woman Representative Joyce Kamene and area MP Engineer Vincent Musyoka.#hivisasaoriginal
