Residents of Kikumini village in Masinga Sub County were on Friday morning left in shock after body of a 30-year-old man was found hanging from a tree near his home.
The man who, who works in Kikumini market, had failed to go home on Thursday night only to be found dead on Friday.
Masinga Sub County Police Commander Francis Siror confirmed the incident, saying that the lifeless body of the man was found dangling from a tree near his home.
He told journalists on friday that the man used to push cart in Kikumini market.
"It was reported that a 30-year-old man had hanged himself in Kikumini village, officers went to the scene confirmed and took the body," said Siror.
Siror said that investigations on the incident are underway. The body was picked by Police and taken to Matuu funeral home for preservation.
Two weeks ago, Siror had decried increased suicide cases in the sub county.
He observed that residents aged 20-50 were the ones taking their lives unnecessarily
He had urged residents to desist from taking their lives, adding that they should instead seek guidance and counselling.
