Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Simba Arati has said that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party remains confident of a win in the upcoming Kibra mini poll.
ODM will have to battle it out with Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC) Party and Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya, which are both members of the National Super Alliance (NASA).
Arati argued that ODM is headed for a win, adding that it will teach Mudavadi and Wetangula a lesson, who he termed the small brothers in NASA.
He, however, noted that the by-election will not break the opposition coalition.
"ODM is the big brother in NASA, Weta and Mudavadi are the little brothers, we will teach them a lesson and NASA will remain united (ODM ndio the big brother in NASA, Weta na Mudavadi ni ndugu wadogo. Hawa tutawafunza adabu na NASA itabaki pamoja)," he said.
The youthful parliamentarian made the remarks on Radio Citizen's Porojo show on Wednesday night.
He said that ODM's main headache currently is the Tangatanga faction of the ruling Jubilee Party, which is said to be headed by Deputy President William Ruto.
According to Arati, Tangatanga is pushing and actively campaigning for Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga, a move he said might force ODM to up its game.
However, he observed that Mariga is not enjoying the full Jubilee backing since a number of its members have endorsed ODM's Imran Okoth.
"Our problem is Tangatanga, not even Jubilee (Sisi shida yetu ni Tangatanga, hata sio Jubilee)," he added.
Among those who have endorsed Imran include nominated MP Maina Kamanda and Youth Affairs CAS Rachel Shebesh.
