Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has sensationally claimed that his Nyeri Town counterpart Ngunjiri Wambugu could be plotting to disrupt a church function.
On his Facebook, Kuria informed Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i and PS Karanja Kibicho the allegations.
Deputy President William Ruto is set to visit Nyeri on Sunday afternoon at AIPCA Mukaro church for a fundraiser.
"Dear PS Kibicho and CS Matiangi. There are rumours that Nyeri Town MP is organising goons to disrupt the event at the AIPCA Mukaro Church that will be graced by the Deputy President this afternoon," Moses Kuria said in part of his Facebook post.
The MP now wants the interior department to send more police officers to give security during the church function.
Should they fail, Kuria argues, AIPCA faithful could be forced to instil law and order should chaos break out.
"Kindly ask the police to mantain law and order. I real fear for the lives of those goons given that the AIPCA faithful are the real freedom fighters who liberated this country. The body count might be shocking. I am sure you are up to the task. Uphold the rule of law," he noted.
While Ngunjiri Wambugu is yet to issue any communication, he has in the past been linked to disruption of events associated with DP William Ruto, a claim he has often denied.
In the past, Ngunjiri warned the camp allied to DP William Ruto against early campaigns, arguing that he won't allow them in Nyeri.
“We as the people of Nyeri Town Constituency will not allow anybody to come to Nyeri and do premature campaigns. We have a right as Nyeri people to tell you when we do not like something you are doing and we will tell you to your face,” the MP once said as quoted by Nation.
