Over 50 people were on Wednesday appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to various parastatals, positions which have traditionally gone to election losers.

In 2017, Uhuru assured his lead Gusii campaigners that he would reward them with state jobs once he took over for the second and final term.

On Wednesday, only Ambrose Ngare, the Jubilee Secretary General from Nyamira, who was appointed to Public Procurement and Asset Disposal board.

"This is a fantastic job. He deserved it having worked closely for the party to record good performance," said Brian Mamboleo, Jubilee youth leader.

But for former MPs Walter Nyambati and Joseph Kiangoi, it will be yet another long wait with only three years remaining before 2022.

Nyambati, formerly chairman for Jomo Kenyatta Foundation, finished second in gubernatorial race. Kiangoi was third in senatorial race.

In a past event at Rigoma, Nyambati said that he's now focused to succeed Governor John Nyagarama, after missing state appointment.

"I still have some work to do. I am the opposition leader in Nyamira. I will help the governor finish his term without much fights. Let's work as a team," he said.

The region has however gained much from goverment following the elevation of Dr Fred Matiang'i. Also, Uhuru appointed Ken Ogeto as Solicitor General and Otachi Bw'Omanwa as NLC chairman.
