Youths across Kisii County been warned against giving bribes to any Government official with expectations to get census jobs that are currently out for grab.
According to area County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi there have been reports that some of the youths who applied for the jobs have been using backdoor means to ensure that they get the jobs which is unacceptable.
“I have already talked to the members of the Kisii County Census Committee (CCC) and urged them to ensure that they observe integrity and transparency in the ongoing recruitment of candidates to undertake the population census in August 2019,” said Kigochi
Speaking on Sunday when we met with the CCC meeting in his office Kigochi appealed to the public to believe in his words that the selection will be transparency.
Kigochi’s Sunday sentiments come even as countrywide shortlisting and interviews of candidates for the position of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) supervisors, Content supervisors and Enumerators is going on.
The county had advertised for 3,500 enumerators where 431 are set to be Content supervisors and 53 ICT supervisors will be hired to carry out the Population and Housing Census from the night of August 24 /25 to 31 2019.
