Through his official Facebook Page Post-Aukot said those linking the Bill to Deputy President William Ruto are enemies of devolution.

“The Bill is linked to 1.2million Kenyans who supported it and the Members of the County Assemblies from 47 counties across the country who will determine its fate,” he said.

He spoke while addressing the press in Busia County Assembly on Wednesday in a bid to woe the Assembly to pass his bill.

“The Bill is sponsored by certain Kenyans out there who are contributing as little as sh 100 to support the bill,” Third Way Alliance Party leader added.

He refuted claims that the bill will merge counties and wards, increasing two-term presidency of 14 years terming it as lies.

Aukot noted that those opposing the bill are just but a pack of blatant lies and that Counties will remain 47 as before while wards will also remain intact at 1450 with prospects of increasing them in future.

He further said that although the position of woman representatives and nominations to Senate and Assemblies will be scrapped, women representation will be on a 50-50 basis,” he said.

Uasin Gishu County Assembly is the only one which has passed the bill after undergoing public participation.
