United States President Donald Trump has insisted that "all is well" despite several ballistic missiles that hit US bases in Iraq.
At least 30 missiles were fired at the bases on Tuesday evening, with Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps warning of more attacks.
The attack, IRGC said, were retaliatory following the murder of their leader Gen Qassem Soleimani who was killed by US forces.
But Trump, who is set to issue a statement on Wednesday, also said the US was in the process of assessing the damage.
"All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now," he said. "So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well-equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning."
In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, an elite wing of the Iranian military said the attacks on Iraqi bases were "hard revenge" for the death of Soleimani.
The IRGC said any country housing US troops could be subject to "hostile and aggressive acts" and called on American citizens to demand the government remove US troops from the region.
Iran termed the missile attack as "the weakest" among many options it's considering in retaliation against the United States.
