Questions have emerged after the key suspect in the murder of The Star journalist Eric Oloo failed to appear in court when two out of the five suspects in the case were arraigned before Siaya Principal Magistrate James Ong’ondo on Monday.
Chief inspector Sabina Kerubo in whose house the body of Eric Oloo was found is one of the prime suspects in the case. It is alleged that Kerubo who had been living with the journalist for a period of 14 months was present at the time of his death.
According to reports, there was controversy over the number of suspects arrested in connection with the murder. Whereas the prosecutor insisted that only two suspects had been arrested, the police claimed that a total of six suspects had been apprehended.
County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal, however, revealed that investigations were still going on citing that there was a likelihood of the remaining suspects being presented in court on Tuesday.
"The other suspects are being processed to be taken to court tomorrow. Kerubo cannot stay in her house because of her security. I can confirm, she is in Ugunja Police Station," Tialal stated.
The two suspects that were arraigned in court on Monday were Victor Ogolla and Franklin Lutta. The two who are also brothers will be held in police custody for 11 days as investigations into the case continue.
