Accompanied by Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga and former Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi, Ngilu met Raila at his Capitol Hill offices in Nairobi where they discussed various issues among them women empowerment.

"We discussed matters on Women in Leadership, how to get the country’s top leadership to support women activities and women’s support for President Uhuru’s Big Four," the county boss tweeted.

Reacting to the post, Miguna accused Ngilu and her team of celebrating and having an enjoyable time when millions of citizens were starving to death.

The vocal lawyer said instead of merrymaking, the leaders should seek justice for Kenyans who allegedly suffered at the hands of President Uhuru Kenyatta during the past elections.

"As you drink wine and stuff yourself up with public goodies from Despot Uhuru Kenyatta, more than 2.5 million ordinary Kenyans are starving to death. Thousands of Kenyans Uhuru killed, maimed and tortured have not received justice. Stop laughing at them!" Miguna posted.

His remarks came amid reports by the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) indicating more than 2.5 million Kenyans were facing starvation as drought and famine continues to bite hard.

NDMA listed Ngilu's Kitui County among marginal agricultural and agro-pastoral regions where residents are in the middle of food crisis. Others are Makueni, Kilifi and Meru North.

The report also showed Turkana, Mandera, Baringo, Wajir, Garissa, Marsabit and Tana River counties as other regions where drought and food security situation has also worsened.
