Emerging details indicate that Gor Mahia striker Dennis Oliech has only his post on social media, linking him to the Kibra parliamentary race, to blame on his woes.
The club has since terminated his 2-year contract, a Sh3.5 million deal, which made him the first player to be at the club on such a deal in history.
But his decision to upload a campaign poster donning its jersey indicating that he is in the race is what has irked the club, resulting to its termination of his contract on Tuesday night.
The club has cited gross misconduct, claiming that his decision to offer himself for the seat portrays it in bad light before fans, and Oliech, therefore, has to go.
“The move to offer yourself for the elections is likely to portray the club in bad light causing disaffection among the club’s supporters and fans," it said in a statement, Wednesday.
Kogallo has also brought up a number of other alleged wrongs, accusing him of poor performance on the pitch and absence from training without permission.
But Oliech is, on the other hand, accusing the team of neglecting him after picking an arm injury in Kisumu last year, adding that his ouster is in bad faith.
“I got injured in Kisumu last year during a league match but the club has never bothered about my treatment. I have been spending my own money to get well,” he said.
Gor Chairman Ambrose Rachier has confirmed the ouster, reminding Oliech that Gor is not a political outfit.
