DCI Detectives on Tuesday recovered two stolen vehicles after a crackdown in Umoja and Soweto areas in Nairobi.
The vehicles - Toyota Voxy KCW 834A and KCS 757V - had been stolen from Phenom Estate in Lang'ata on Monday before the police embarked on a manhunt for the suspects.
The police also nabbed a Toyota ALPHARD that criminals have been using to commit their crimes in different parts of the city and its outskirts.
"TWO Toyota VOXY M/Vs; KCS 757V & KCW 834A which had been stolen from Phenom Estate in Lang'ata were yesterday recovered by @DCI_Kenya Detectives following a rigorous operation at Umoja & Soweto areas. Eight suspects also arrested & a Toyota ALPHARD they have been using detained," DCI said.
The detectives also arrested eight suspects in connection with the theft of the cars. The suspects are John Mwenga Kariuki, Edward Musonye Ikatwa, Daniel Kabita, and Paul Mwaura Karanja.
Others are Alex Kioko, Daniel Gisiri, Elphas Sula and Christine Mwongeli Munyao.
"John MWENGA Kariuki, Daniel KABITA, Paul MWAURA Karanja, Edward MUSONYE Ikatwa, Christine MWONGELI Munyao, Alex KIOKO, Daniel GISIRI & Elphas SULA are a chain of suspects, each having a role during Thieveries. All in custody & investigations ongoing to break the entire chain," DCI said.
The suspects will be arraigned in court and charged with car theft.
