Bongo star Ommy Dimpoz has finally opened up on his close relationship with Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
Ommy and other top artists including Ali Kiba alias King Kiba have recently developed a certain trend in their music where they have been using (001) "zero zero one" soundtrack in their songs, which is basically referring to Mombasa County, or rather county 001.
Governor Joho has also been enjoying 001 tittle in his political field.
The singer in an interview with Bongo Five, Friday, explained why he has been using that particular soundtrack of 001.
He said it is due to the great support he gets from Joho in his music career and even in his life as the county boss has been encouraging him to release songs that were never meant to be released at all.
"When I cam back to Dar es Salaam people were calling me after meeting Joho. He was making them listen to my song and laughed at me as to why I could not release the song. (Kurudi Dar nikashangaa watu wananipigia ambao wanakutane naye (Joho) anaplay, halafu anasema umesikia hii nyimbo ya Ommy? Yule mjinga hataki kuitoa bwana.)," said Ommy.
The singer was sick a few months ago where Joho played a big role on his medication until he fully recovered.
His throat had developed complications which resulted to the lose of his voice. He tried several health facilities starting from here in Kenya before he ended up in abroad over the same.
Fortunately, he recovered and his voice was restored.
He is now again back in music.
