Police officers in Nakuru County are investigating an incident in which a 25-year-old woman was found dead on Sunday.
The woman, who was later identified as Faith Wangui, was reportedly last seen with her ex-husband last Sunday before she was found dead.
A body of the deceased was found at Menengai Crater with the breast chopped off. It, however, remains unclear why the killers decided to chop off the breast.
It has also emerged that the woman and her ex-lover, Joseph Muchiri were trying to fix things before the incident.
The estranged lover is now the key suspect in the murder of the woman.
Wangui, a mother of two children, reportedly travelled from her workplace in Murang’a to Nakuru before she met her death.
She had planned to take her children to her aunt’s home for the holiday but she changed her plans.
In a message she sent to her friend quoted by Citizen Digital, the deceased said she had gone to meet the ex-husband before she was found murdered.
The deceased brother Joseph Mwangi said that the left hand had also been chopped off and that the woman had been in an abusive relationship for more than six years.
“Their marriage has not been straight for long, the guy was a threat. For the last six years that they have been together, the marriage was hell. Once when she gave birth and the child was two weeks old, he beat her up badly,” Mwangi said, as quoted by Citizen Digital
Police are digging deep into the matter after the discovery.
The incident comes at a time when police are also probing Major Peter Mwaura of Laikipia Airbase in Nanyuki following the murder of her ex-wife and two children.
