Speaking on Sunday, the lawmaker noted that the people have for years made it a habit electing people based on the noise and drama they make during campaigns.

He warned them against electing the best 'dancers' in 2022, adding that if it happens, they should not blame their leaders' inability to deliver citing ODM should not be blamed for this.

“Our people choose best podium dancers before turning around to blame the party for the mess," the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chair said at Simenya Secondary School.

He advised them to go for those with leadership abilities, failure to which they will be blaming and castigating the party for their own electoral mistakes.

"People will come to you in 2022, some of them you already know. They will come here to dance on top of tables, asking you to give them a chance to manage taxpayers’ money in that office, but when you look at their development track record, it's pathetic," he added.

His remarks come ahead of an awaited battle for Siaya governorship which is currently open for the best candidate, considering that Governor Cornel Rasanga is on his second and last term.

Wandayi doubles up as the ODM director of Political Affairs.
