Orange Democratic Movement party treasurer Timothy Bosire on Monday welcomed the arrest of Treasury CS Henry Rotich, arguing that it did not got him by surprise.
Mr Rotich, who is serving in Treasury for 7th year in a row, is set to be arraigned in court on Tuesday over alleged embezzlement of Sh21 billion meant for construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams.
The CS and 27 others were arrested following a statement by Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji, who said the investigators had gathered enough evidence.
And Bosire, in a swift response, said he saw the trouble coming when together with other ODM members, whistled in Parliament over rampant graft which he believes was being side by Treasury.
"Truth will set everyone free and in the end some of us will be vindicated, as we stood firm through the challenges of Nation building.
"While serving humbly as MP, we fought against corruption, raised our voice loud enough, detained, called all manner of names, but I'm happy as the moment of truth is here and now , feeling vindicated," said the former Kitutu Masaba MP.
Early this year, Bosire, a former Economist at the Treasury, accused Deputy President William Ruto of allegedly engineering reallocation of Sh5 billion meant for construction of Magwagwa Multi-purpose dam to Kimwarer and Arror.
"We are aware and Lake Basin Board has confirmed that some money for Magwagwa was taken to Kimwarer and Arror. That's how they stole from us," he had said.
In 2016, Bosire was among MPs arrested and locked at Pangani Police Station over alleged hate speech. Until now, they are yet to take plea.
